Reviews for the Teaching Film and Media Studies series:

From Laurence Alster, TES
From the books selected here those grouped nearest the gold medal standard are the quartet from bfi Education. …

There is copious advice on how best to deliver a particular topic, exemplar material is carefully chosen and analysis is often acute yet accessible.

From Richard Murphy, School Librarian
… these books make the courses accessible to both the specialist and non-specialist, and go to pains to explain the simplest way to secure the best resources.

The spiral binding allows for tough use in and around equipment.

The text itself explains clearly, in neat subheadings and relevant bullet points, the main ideas, theories and concepts behind the chapters. … The content of the books are cued to sixth form thinking, and the nature of the series allows for use across a range of examining boards …

The style, accessibility, layout, schemes [of work], extra worksheets, and explanation of terms, together with the plan of how to conduct a case study will ensure these are useable texts for a good timespan for the specialist and non-specialist.
